ICF-16 2027 Melbourne: Mini Symposium Co-Organized by SCP Founding President Officially Accepted
The International Society for Smart Construction and Production (SCP) is pleased to highlight the upcoming 16th International Conference on Fracture (ICF-16), scheduled to take place in Melbourne, Australia, from 28 June to 2 July 2027.

ICF-16 is an international academic conference dedicated to advancing research and innovation in fracture mechanics, material damage, structural integrity, and related engineering disciplines. The conference will bring together leading researchers, academics, and industry professionals from around the world to exchange cutting-edge research findings, explore emerging technologies, and foster international scientific collaboration.
As part of ICF-16, a Mini Symposium entitled “Fracture and Damage in Quasi-Brittle Materials and Structures: Acoustic Emission, Multimodal Monitoring, Complexity-Informed Model Updating” has been officially accepted by the ICF-16 Organizing Committee.
The Mini Symposium was jointly proposed by Professor Xiangyu Wang, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Founding President of SCP, Professor Ignacio Iturrioz, and Professor Giuseppe Lacidogna from Politecnico di Torino, Italy.
The symposium will focus on recent advances in fracture and damage mechanisms of quasi-brittle materials and structures, particularly acoustic emission techniques, multimodal structural monitoring, and complexity-informed model updating. It aims to provide an international platform for interdisciplinary discussions, knowledge exchange, and research collaboration, contributing to the development of innovative approaches to structural damage assessment, performance evaluation, and intelligent infrastructure monitoring.
The acceptance of this Mini Symposium reflects the active participation of SCP’s academic leadership in international research initiatives and further strengthens opportunities for global collaboration in structural engineering, advanced materials, and smart infrastructure technologies.
