Background:

Geospatial intelligence integrates geographic information with data analytics to provide spatial insights that are crucial for optimizing smart buildings and infrastructure. It provides powerful learning algorithms such as machine learning, deep learning, and transfer learning, to develop effective and innovative solutions for geospatial and Earth issues. As urbanization and technological advances continue to shape cities, smart infrastructure needs real-time spatial information for enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Smart buildings rely on geospatial data for various systems, including energy management, occupancy monitoring, urban planning, etc.

Objectives


The primary objective of this Task Group is to foster collaborative research and to systematically disseminate knowledge for optimizing smart buildings and infrastructure. This initiative seeks to advance both the understanding and practical application of advanced learning algorithms in the development and enhancement of smart infrastructure systems.


The Task Group will actively identify and celebrate outstanding research contributions that have significantly advanced the development and implementation of learning algorithms for optimizing smart buildings and infrastructure.


A critical aim of the Task Group is to promote the practical adoption of advanced algorithms in smart infrastructure systems. This involves not only encouraging their implementation but also supporting the development of best practices in areas such as energy efficiency, infrastructure optimization, sustainability, and safety and security.
