Highly-Cited Researcher (Clarivate), ranked first globally in Intelligent Construction; Academician of the European Academy of Sciences(EurASc,2026);Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts(EASA,2025);Academician of the Royal Society of Arts(RSA,2026);Academician of the European Union Academy of Sciences (EU Academy of Sciences,2018); former Lifetime Distinguished Professor and Chair Professor at Curtin University, Australia.
Served as a Member of the College of Experts at the Australian Research Council (ARC), equivalent to the Dean of the Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) or the National Science Foundation (NSF, USA).
Over the past decade, Prof. Xiangyu Wang has been the principal investigator of more than 100 research and industrial projects at home and abroad, securing over 200 million RMB in research funding and commercialization grants. Since 2014, he and his team have been awarded 15 Australian Research Council (ARC) projects. He has delivered over 100 keynote speeches at influential international conferences, including the Smart China Expo and the World VR Industry Conference.
He has published more than 300 SCI/SSCI papers, including over 100 in CAS Q1 journals. Among them, 21 papers are currently listed as ESI Top 1% Highly Cited Papers (nearly 30 cumulative over years), with 10 Hot Papers. His total citations in the Web of Science Core Collection exceed 9,000, with an H-index > 50.
He was selected among the World’s Top 0.2% Scientists 2020 and ranks first worldwide in research output and impact in Intelligent Construction (BIM focus) and related fields. He has received Best Paper Awards more than 10 times from prestigious journals and conferences, including ISARC, ICCBEI, CONVR, and IJPR.
To date, Prof. Wang has supervised over 20 postdoctoral fellows to completion, more than 30 PhD graduates, and mentored hundreds of professors, associate professors, assistant professors, senior lecturers, lecturers, research associates, research fellows, visiting scholars, and visiting students now holding positions across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Europe.
